The Volen s Transportation Program offers two unique choices for rides. The Volen Community Coach offers group rides from a fleet of 24 safe, clean, wheelchair-equipped vehicles. - The Lift transportation program is a more personalized experience with small sedans or small wheelchair lift vans that provide door-to-door assistance, short travel times, and extended hours of operation. Restrictions apply and rides are only offered Monday through Friday. Reservations are required. Please contact the Transportation Department for more information. Our caring, specially-trained staff provides individualized assistance to meet the needs of each participant. We provide peace of mind to caregivers and family members who need to work and maintain a sense of normalcy in their personal lives. Our Garden Bridge program combines life- enriching independent and supervised activities for seniors in the early stages of cognitive impairment, as well as for their caregivers. Senior dining sites throughout the community bring older adults together for delicious hot meals and fellowship at no cost. The Center also delivers meals right to the doorsteps of less mobile seniors. Volen Center Care Managers are experts you can rely on. They provide in-depth assessments and individualized care planning, and assist in arranging for and ensuring the delivery of quality services. The Volen Center understands the needs of caregivers and offers extensive caregiver programs and services. Our popular support groups are offered at different locations and times every week. Whether you are an adult child caring for your parent or a spouse caring for your partner, there is a support group just for you. Participants in the support groups appreciate having a community of support among those who share the caregiving experience and who can also relate practical solutions to daily issues that arise. Through a special partnership with the YMCA, our Child Development Center offers a unique and innovative preschool program with a rich and robust curricula, and daily interaction with older adults. both children and seniors benefit immensely from the endlessly rewarding experience. The program encourages exploration, creativity, collaboration and self-expression through developmentally appropriate activities. New support groups are also available and open to all. Bereavement Support Group Caregiver Support Group Individual counseling will be provided at no or low cost; fees are determined on an individual basis.
