alternatives for girls (afg) is a community-based, private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in southwest detroit. since 1987, afg has served girls and young women from this disadvantaged area with vocational guidance, educational support, and counseling. the goal of afg's staff and many volunteers continues to be helping these girls and young women lead safe, happy, healthy and successful lives.
